One of the most essential parts of marketing online is linking. Building links to your website, whether it be a Veretekk portal or your business site, is critical to getting traffic and finding customers. Links from other sites are like votes. Links from websites with trust, authority and rankings will positively impact the way search engines position your site. Obtaining backlinks is perhaps the most crucial aspect of marketing any website.

There are many ways to obtain backlinks, depending on the situation. If you own the website, you can exchange links with other website owners, and have your links added to their site while they add your link to their site. If you are promoting an affiliate site, you may not be able to exchange links because you have no provision for adding links to most affiliate sites.

For affiliate sites, one of the better ways to create links is to post entries to forums and blogs. If you are a Veretekk Gold subscriber, you have a Blogfather blog already in place for your use. If you are a Silver subscriber, either consider upgrading to Gold, or go to Google Blogger and get a free blog. Once you have a blog, post it regularly with fresh content for best results.

Thousands of online forums exist on the Net and almost all of them offer free membership. All forums have rules in place and it is extremely important to read and follow the guidelines. Some forums allow open ad posting, while others allow more subtle forms of advertising by allowing links in signature files only. Regardless, these links are indexed by search engine spiders and will quickly appear in search engine results. I am posting a list of advertising forums below. Most or all of them allow direct ad posting and also use signature elements. This list is by no means all inclusive.

My suggestion would be to sign up for a few of these forums and get some ads out there in cyberspace. Increase as you go to improve your marketing results.
