Most people who get into a network marketing program want things to happen quickly. This article begins an explanation series and explains why it important to begin the right way, to begin with training in the right topics and to put into practice your newly learned skills.

When I was learning to play tennis it wasn't long before I thought I was a champion until my coach moved me to the advanced classes and I played in a few tournaments.

Then; back to earth with a crunch. You wise and learned person reading this will now understand that in any endeavour you must first learn the craft, then practice what you have learned, then work harder than ever to master your new found skills.

So what has tennis got to do with a work at home business? Well most of those initial presentations for "work at home" don't explain is how difficult it is to get started and to acquire the skills needed for success in network marketing.

People go onto the web or "Internet", with an idea which they think will transform their lives; then get involved with all the hype which seems to transform the way they think to the point that "this is so easy" and "so this is the way business gets done, I can do this!" Then bang! Another $1000 gone. Has this happened to you my learned and wise reader?

For many new distributors, this maybe their first venture into network marketing and now having lost money are now unsure about how to really begin a work from home project and often are tentative in their initial approaches. This is good because you now realise you must work in the right way within the right team and with the right tools as there is simply too much to do yourself.

To be successful in network marketing, new distributors need to learn from someone who is already successful. When new distributors know how to proceed, they can build their down line with confidence. Only one person in a hundred is a "self-starter". The other 99 will require that you invest time into their success, and show them how to begin.

There are three steps to building your downline:
1. Carefully lay down a path that can then later run on.
2. Being involved with a Good MLM Sponsor.
3. Working with the team to develop depth with your MLM downline.

Before Going Into Business.

The very first question that you must ask yourself before anything else. You got to demand yourself to an answer to this. Why the heck on earth would anybody pay for what you're selling?

1. Why should there be anyone would do business with you?

This could be the very first question that you must ask yourself before anything else. You got to demand yourself to an answer to this. Why the heck on earth would anybody pay for this "Junk" you're selling? Yup, "Junk", as I phrased it. It doesn't matter how good your product is to be, to the eye of others, it's just another piece of product in a sea pool of other similar products. So, still be very proud of your product or service? Truly you're 100% proud of it? You truthfully and deeply believe people would be dumb by NOT buying from you?
Well. you passed the first barrier! You're ready to start go to next stage.

2. The basic business needs 3 things: Lawyer, CPA, and Creative or crazy fellow, which could very well be you.

Almost every business gets themselves for the first two. It's understandably so. Good creative person are really hard to find, hard to manage, and you'll never sure of what you're paying for. Every established and sizeable business knows the creative side plays a heavier weight than the lawyer and CPA. CPA's and lawyers can help you when you are up there. But at the early stage when your business is still an infant, your business live or die depending on it's business branding activities in areas like business identities, logos, marketing campaign, advertising copy and business slogans.
Now, are you NUTS enough? Have people been calling you NUTS?
If so, you are ready for the next stage! Do give yourself a "Cheers"!

3. Singing for Your Own? You Got To Promote Yourself In Every Possible Way.

Do all of them. Yes, Do whatever possible to get your business name to be up there! Get your Business Brand being noticed by others. There more the merrier! Business can just comes and go so fast before anybody could hears of them. People are busy, what do they care? They don't care about you and your business. Why should they care? Get serious. Do everything you can possibly and reasonably afford to do. But beware; you must not mislead others because it'll backfire quickly enough to wipe your business off.
Do you "Sing for your own self"? Then you've passed! Move on to next stage.

4. Big Decision: Could You Win The Competition.

It's very likely that you're entering a crowded business market when you first started. Take a hard and closer look at what other fellows are doing; what your competitors are doing right now could affect your business greatly.
At this stage, you got to decide: Are you going for "Head to Head" fight? Competing on better quality? Crazier pricing strategy? Extra Mile Service Level? Better Marketing Campaign? or what else? Or you would avoid all that, and create you own niche, where you are the leader?
If you decided to be offering the same or very much similar product at the same price, but your marketing materials doesn't look half as good as your competitors. hey, you're in deep trouble! If you're charging half compare to others, then it's still alright to "Look" cheap, simply because you are the "Cheaper" alternative where people are looking for.

5. Marketing is basically just a matter Perception.

"Perception" is just another fancy word for thoughts. The thought by the public has in mind all about you and your "Good" or "Bad" business. Good salesmen control the perception more on personal level like putting on neat suit, very nice smile and sincere voice, firm handshake. etc.
And your business marketing campaign need to strive to achieve equivalent level of effects. And it needs to be at a more abstract level by means of having an attractive Business Name, Eye Catching Business Graphics, Professionally dressed-up staff. Any things that just might seduce and persuade a potential visitor to become a paying customer.

6. Your Business Identity; Your Business Equity.

The Business Name, the Logo, the projected Business Look, the public's perception, recognition, or even affection if there is; these are critical to business success. Big businesses routinely pay big buck like million dollars for these aspects for the business.
Your Business Identity must be well organized to target at desired market. It's what termed as the "Face" side, the side which public always sees first. Work on refining it so it works wonders. Improve it to get better and even better, and then protect it, and treasured like your beloved!
Yup, there are so many people who just bought a ready business. But every time they run a new marketing campaign, they tend to fall into trap of projecting a different business image and look. Really, don't ever make such mistake like an amateur.
Consistently stick on to the business branding strategy that your have chosen on the very early stage. This is your Business Equity. By keep changing the business look, you'll get the public confused, and worse still if they see that you don't even have the basic respect for your business identity.

Don't destroy the business equity; you need to be utmost concerned with your business image to the public. It has its own personality. It has to stand out from the rest. It has to send clear signal to the targeted market: "Here We are, Come To Us", "Get Us Today".

Do Love Your Business, just like you love yourself.

Work from home jobs can be a blessing and a curse for many people. While work from home jobs allow many people to enjoy a short commute and freedom in their workplace, these jobs can also make it more difficult for people to separate work from home. It is important for people with work from home jobs to take time out for themselves to avoid resentment and burnout.

People with work from home jobs can avoid the pitfalls by setting a schedule for themselves. Taking advantage of a set schedule means that a person will have time to balance both work life and personal needs. It also allows people with work from home jobs to let clientele know when they will be available to answer questions or contact them for specific reasons.

It is also important that people with work at home jobs set limits with other family members. In order to remain on schedule with work, it is important that children, spouses, roommates and more all know the schedule and follow it. Yes, work from home jobs offer more flexibility in balancing work and home life, but it does not mean that you can just drop work to handle something minor at home.

Assessing your tasks is also important for people with work from home jobs. If you feel overwhelmed, like there are not enough hours in the day to do what you have to do, then you may want to take some time to see what you are spending your time doing. But I guess first things first.
Before you take the plunge into a job opportunity, regardless of how good it sounds, or more accurately because of how good it sounds, you will want to thoroughly evaluate the prospect before sending in any money to join any type of program or spend any time performing any type of work and never seeing any payment. This can be an indication the site was thrown together by someone whose main interest is money, not for you, and they expect the message to be so enticing that their literacy will not come into question. Check out the site for basic information such as a street address and telephone number. There are mapping sites available that can show a picture of any address and you can use them to learn if the business is located in am office building, a private residence or on a vacant lot. You will also want to know what the business opportunity is all about before becoming involved with any company. Websites that use generic terms to extol the monetary virtues of working for them, may not have much in the way of products or services to offer.

They tend to hide behind their vocabulary, even if not spelled correctly, to make you believe that it doesn't matter that the business is about, you can make a lot of money simply by being involved with them. Pay attention to these so-called money making propositions and make good choices.

The main offer of most working at home business is the promise of the escape from the rate race. Is this a true fact? Most people I know who work from home actually work a great site harder and longer hours than the nine to fivers on a job - at least they can actually switch off and leave the work behind them. So is the promise of greater free time, more time spent with your family and the escaping of the rate race actually true for people who choose to work at home? As always and as with most things, it's a case of pros and cons. There are benefits and costs associated with both ways of working so lets explore some of the detail contained in each when working from home.

Working at home will give you more free time?

Actually, most probably not because time now equals money and when you are not working you are not earning in most cases. But, it does allow flexibility of time that most probably will allow you to schedule your time to fit in with other family commitments on a day to day basis. However, a little understated benefit is the fact that you are surrounded & encompassed within your family environment which means you are still privy to the day to day antics that you can still observe or choose to take part in. You are also on call for those domestic problems to assist with your partner without the need for that embarrassing phone call to the office and the long anxious drive home. It may not be quality time totally focussed on your family but it's a great counterweight and superior environment knowing that you are still in site & in touch with your family throughout the day.

Working at home means you have escaped the rat race?

Yes and no is the answer to this one. Yes, you have escaped the daily trudge to the remote office via slow moving traffic or dirty public transport but the pressures to maintain an income are exactly the same. However, having your own home based business usually means greater chances of making a higher income and the satisfaction that you are in control of how much you could make. There is no greater motivator when effort directly equals reward. You could argue that you have also escaped the pressures of a boss but in reality having your own home based business often means that every new client or customer is like a mini boss within themselves placing their own demands on your services, time or products. On balance I would say that it's a 60/40 split on this one and its how you value the benefits of working from home can bring.

You will earn more money working for yourself with a home based business?

Over time probably yes but perhaps not to start with. If you have just started a new business it needs time to grow. Some people slip into running their own business working from home as a part time operation and this is perhaps the safest and most practical way in to working from home. However, this approach often requires years of burning the candle at both ends by working evenings and weekends in additional to the day job. This can take its toll on a person or family if there is no end to it but once that critical mass is reached within the part time activity, the nettle should be firmly grasped and the giant leap taken to allow that part time work to flourish into a proper work from business. So as usual, it's a case of swings and roundabouts. Although PAYE careers have additional employer benefits such as health and pension funds that the self employed home business has to pay for, the potential for developing and exploiting your own ideas for profit usually, in the end, win overall. Let's just say that most successful and wealthy people I personally meet in life always seem to be running their own businesses - it may not always be working from home but it is a concept that seems to work for the majority.
